Cauliflower Fritters

cauliflower fritters

Ingredients:

1 medium sized cauliflower
¾ cup flour
1 egg
¾ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
A pinch of nutmeg
¾ cup milk
Oil for frying
¼ teaspoon salt

Directions:

  • Chop cauliflower into medium sized florets and cook in boiling salted water for 6-7 minutes or until just tender. Drain and set aside.
  • Beat the egg with the milk in a small bowl. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Gradually stir milk mixture into flour mixture and beat until smooth.
  • Dip cauliflower florets into batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the cauliflower in the oil until golden brown on all sides. Drain out excess oil and serve hot.
